"When I think of working with sound, as a musician or as a sound designer, I don't see a regular way; is like having a white canvas in front of you, with many brushes and paints at your disposal, with no right choice or decision.

Sound design for me is like music. Is making art to listen, to communicate, to tell stories and to create emotion.

By being subjective, sound has a unique way of being interpreted, understood and discussed. We all listen differently, in a very personal way, so we refer different emotions to each sound we listen; this makes the work of sound extremely powerful."

João Curvello, musician and sound designer, professionally involved in audiovisual production for the past 12 years.

His experience in sound production and music technology courses in Brasil, UK and USA, combined with his work as a Dialog and SFX Editor in the most important tv company in Latin America, makes João a sound designer with a good technical approach and great artistic sensitivity.

He participated in series and novels of national projection, such as "Dois Irmaos" (2016), "Os Dias eram assim" (2017) and Brazil-Argentina co-production "Supermax" (2017). In 2018, he has dedicated himself to the two series being released by GloboPlay platform, "Se eu fechar meus olhos agora" and "Ilha de Ferro" (the first working as and Sound Supervisor and Sound Effects Editor). Last year (2020), he was responsible for the sound of another two series, "Doutor Castor" and "Predestinado", displayed in the same platform, GloboPlay.
